Proper Brewing Co. embarked on its journey in 2013 as Avenues Proper in the picturesque Avenues neighborhood of Salt Lake City, establishing itself as Utah’s smallest and only nano-brewery, complemented by an exceptional food menu. The community’s enthusiastic response to our innovative brews led to our expansion in 2016 with the launch of Proper Burger and Brewery in downtown Salt Lake City. Our goal was to create an inviting atmosphere where patrons could enjoy fresh, scratch-made meals at an affordable price while highlighting the remarkable beers that earned us local acclaim. This milestone was further celebrated when renowned chef Guy Fieri featured Proper Brewing Co. on his popular show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, and when MLS soccer star Kyle Beckerman collaborated with us on the signature Beckerman’s Brew.
As demand grew, we expanded to the Delta Center and Moab, which was a surreal moment for co-founder Andrew, a lifelong jazz enthusiast and former resident of the desert town. This growth opened new opportunities for collaboration, including our proud partnership with Deer Valley Ski Resort, where we developed the exclusive Deer Valley Pilsner. In addition, this year we introduced Utah’s first local hard tea, Proper ‘Noon Tea, available in four delightful flavors. Each step of our journey has not only expanded our offerings but also allowed Proper Brewing Co. to weave itself into the cultural fabric of the community we love so much, creating heartwarming experiences for locals and visitors alike while continuously pushing the boundaries of brewing innovation.
