Daniel Benites – AKA Salsa Dan, is THE flavor and spice connoisseur. He brings them both with a fury to the Salt Lake City salsa scene. He is on a mission to change every bland boring pallet into a spice loving flavor craving powerhouse!

Benites was born and raised in California where the hot sauces were hotter and salt was not a flavor profile. Through his creativity and Mexican heritage he brings a modern twist on traditional Mexican Salsas. Benites imagination knows no bounds and he has created 50+ salsas, pestos, quesos and sauces. He just debuted a line of bottled hot sauces and soups, he really can’t be stopped! With a focus on the local community he supports as many local products and vendors as possible to keep his salsa top notch! “Salsa so good you can drink it!”

Benites started making salsa in his home kitchen 23 years ago fast forward to now and he currently offers a variety of his products in: Harmons, Whole Foods, Maceys and 60+ other stores across the Salt Lake Valley, Park City and Spanish Fork. Benites is also a sponsor and vendor of the Salt Lake City Farmers Market and a vendor at Wheeler Farm and Park City Farmers Markets. Benites has been featured in Utah Stories, appeared on Good Things Utah and Good Day Utah on Fox, won the Taste of Utah award in 2021 and was part of City Weekly Best Of in 2018. Benites is a mentor to small business owners and a Goldman Sachs 10,000 small business graduate.

Benites thirst for adrenaline can be found shredding the slopes or ripping through epic landscapes on a mountain bike and he brings this same intensity to his salsa. Buckle up, your taste buds are in for a wild ride
