VeloWafel is a bike-based purveyor of the Liège Wafel, a classic street treat that dates back to the 1800s from the Liège region of Belgium. Throughout Europe wafels are found everywhere, in small shops and on carts, served any time of day, with a dusting of powdered sugar and handed over in a waxed paper sleeve, to be enjoyed while sightseeing along cobblestone streets.

We love to vend at farmer’s markets, sporting events, and festivals. We can also bring our WafelBike to cater your event, large or small, indoors or outdoors.
If you are looking for a unique treat and vintage vending look for your reception, company party, or other events, book our WafelBike with either a full service WafelBar or you can do it yourself with our drop-off catering option.

Our passion for wafels started a decade ago as a Saturday morning tradition with our kids, and now our grandkids eagerly await the first ones to come off the iron. Researching and refining the recipes, ingredients and flavor of this traditional Belgian treat has taken us to Europe and into history, food science, and numerous taste-testing sessions.
The VeloWafel secret is an overnight yeast-risen Brioche dough, studded with imported Belgian Pearl Sugar chunks, baked on cast iron at just the right temperature. When dough hits hot iron, the magic begins and the result is a delectable indulgence that is caramelized on the outside, chewy on the inside, and chock-full of crunchy sugar goodness. We serve them the Belgian way, no syrup or toppings needed!
