As a program of New Roots at the International Rescue Committee(IRC), the Sunnyvale Farmers Market (SFM) is an affordable fresh food resource in Salt Lake City, UT. The market operates every Saturday, from the third weekend in June to the second weekend of October. The market features locally grown produce and culturally relevant crops familiar to the high population of refugee and new Americans in the area. The Sunnyvale Farmers Market welcomes the Salt Lake Valley to enjoy the inclusive market atmosphere and try something new, with vegetables and vendors selling food from countries around the world.
SFM participates in Double Up Food Bucks which offers a discount to customers who shop with their EBT cards (formerly known as food stamps/SNAP). Sunnyvale Farmers Market will offer a $30 match incentive for the 2020 market season.
Customers shopping with their EBT cards can stop by the token booth when they arrive at the market. Market staff are there to help exchange SNAP dollars for farmers market tokens and match the amount a customer intends to spend up to $30. For example: when a customer chooses to spend $20 from their EBT card, they will receive an additional $30 in Double Up Food Bucks to spend on fresh fruits and vegetables.
In addition to the New Roots Farm Stand, the Sunnyvale Farmers Market features local vendors, a food pantry, free kids lunch, nutrition classes, and kids activities. The Sunnyvale Food Pantry distributes primarily unprocessed food staples, while supplies last. The food pantry is operated in partnership with Bishop Storehouse. The Sunnyvale Pantry also partners with The Green Urban Lunch Box to offer locally gleaned fruit at no cost, throughout the summer.

The Provo Farmers Market is a community-based organization that provides a venue for the sale of fresh, locally-grown produce and locally-made arts and crafts, food artisans and on-site food vendors.
We’re a great place for growers, artists, neighbors, civic leaders and nonprofit organizations to meet and mingle. By knowing and supporting each other, we can make positive improvements in our community. Because we want to ensure all families have access to fresh fruits and vegetables, we accept payments from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) through our wooden token program.
Great produce, great crafts, fun Saturday activity.
Excellently orchestrated with a large variety of vendors and small businesses!
The produce at the farmer markets taste delicious. I love to shop there for my fruits and veggies!
The Downtown Farmers Market provides opportunities for local growers, food and craft artisans to display and sell items to the public. The focus of the market is to provide local growers with the opportunity to bring fresh produce as well as flora, bulbs, cheeses, eggs, and jellies directly to the public.
The market family has recently expanded to include the Winter Market at Rio Grande Depot, bringing us one step closer to our goal of a year-round venue for farmers, growers, and food purveyors. Come see why our vendors are passion and pride for the products they make, and why our motto is “Make it, bake it or grow it.”
It was absolutely amazing! I can hardly wait to go again! My grandkids loved it too! The kids say it’s the best place ever! They loved the samples and the music of the various people. Great time had by all!
Great people! Great vendors! It’s fantastic that the community comes together for the promotion of delicious fresh grown fruits, vegetables , home maid treats ! If you have not been? Check it out!
I’ve been to a lot of markets and this doesn’t disappoint, certainly worth going to if you’re nearby. Food, gifts, music, and produce was all exceptional.
