At Tiff’s Tallow, we sustainably take local tallow (ruminant animal fat) fresh off the cow and render it down to cosmetic grade for personal care products that serve our customers. We make our products in-house from scratch in small batches. It is a detailed process that takes 7 days from start to finish but is absolutely worth it. Our tallow is rendered, clarified & filtered three times over 6 days; on the 7th day, we can make the tallow product. When our tallow is heated, it only ever touches stainless steel & glass, NEVER plastic. We source our fat locally in Morgan, Utah. We are also seeking a farm partnership to support our local farmers better and build relationships while knowing exactly how our cows are taken care of.
We value timeless traditions and the traditional, animal-based skincare of our ancestors. We make a variety of tallow-based products because animal fat is more readily absorbed and recognized by our skin than plant oils-which the personal care industry has pushed heavily for. People are coming back to traditional ways of living and valuing companies that are doing the same. We make 6 different whipped tallows (with very minimal ingredients), tallow sugar scrubs, and Deep Work which is a tallow-based balm with lanolin and beeswax. We also have a tallow deodorant and will soon release a tallow-based sunscreen.
The plant-based products on the shelves that line the stores just aren’t working for people like Tiff’s Tallow does. People are frustrated with their dry, constantly irritated skin, especially in our dry climate. Our customers have reported that they could throw their 6-step skincare routine (and products) out the window because tallow does it all with one product. Tallow is superior not only because our skin recognizes it as opposed to plant oils (that just sit atop the skin), but because it deeply nourishes skin, helps to lock in moisture (which also helps reduce fine lines) while remaining breathable, contains conjugated linoleic acid which naturally combats inflammation, palmitic acid to improve barrier function, steric acid to help skin feel supple, and contains vitamins A, D, E, K & B12. Tallow is truly the answer many have been searching for.
