Mount Naomi Vineyard & Winery

The Journey from Soil to Soul

Wine Elevated: High-Altitude Vineyard Experience
The Distinction of High-Elevation Wines
Less than 1% of wines are produced from fruit grown at elevations approaching 5,000 feet. This high desert environment is truly transformative, creating an exceptional alchemy that results in distinctive wines. The climate fosters vibrant flavors of tropical fruits, peaches, and light floral notes, which complement the traditional flavors and characters of the grapes. Our rocky soils shine as the backbone minerality that make the lighter flavors sing.
Mountain Terroir and Natural Protection
The mountain terrain, which cradles our vines, offers remarkable terroir and natural safeguards. Unlike many vineyards that rely on chemical treatments to combat pests and plant diseases, our location provides inherent protection. The elevation and thin atmosphere allow for intense sun exposure, enabling our fruit to ripen naturally without the need for leaf pruning or mechanical manipulation.
Sustainability and Regeneration in the Vineyard
Our growing practices have a lower environmental impact, resulting in amazing wines without sacrificing the soil or nature. Abundant harvests are possible with 75% less water than traditional crops grown in the region. As you walk through our vineyards, you will encounter regenerative cover crops, thriving pollinators, and abundant life among the vines. The unique high mountain valley setting is the foundation for our commitment to producing “Wine Elevated.”

“…life every now and then becomes literature…as if life had been made and not happened.” ― Norman Maclean A life dependent on the soil requires resilience and an ability to flex and change with nature. Over a history of 75 years, the soil we work, the very dust we breath becomes part of our souls, our DNA, stirring from within a need to preserve that which has held our lives in its grace. The rocky acreage of our genesis has brought forth four generations that have, and still work, the land for their livelihood.

The owners of Mount Naomi Vineyard & Winery have poured heart and soul into this soil creating a vibrant working farm that focuses on sustainable agriculture and respecting the land where our guests can gather and be part of this living tapestry.
In our efforts to diversify our farm and preserve it for future generations, we realized that only by creating a destination that is open to all, where seeing things grow and being part of the process, can the true journey from soil to soul be possible and experienced.

At Mt Naomi Winery a sense of seclusion and calm permeates all. It is a testament to our namesake mountain Mount Naomi which means pleasantness or delight, our true inspiration in conveying a rural elegance in everything we do. Today we still cultivate the land, fine wine, memories, connections, and stories that will last a lifetime.
Sincerely

Brenda & Keith Meikle from our soil to your soul.
