Nessie’s Sourdough

Nessie only uses organic grains and no seed oils!!

Nessie cold ferments the dough.

Nessie places the dough in the fridge to slow down the rising process and it helps break down the gluten so its easier to digest and allows people who have a gluten intolerant to eat Nessie’s Sourdough.

Nessie’s sourdough is made with flour that is sourced here in Utah.

Nessie has done hours of research and many phone calls ensuring she gets a good quality flour. Central Millings is a NON GMO, all organic, not enriched flour. Central Millings flour is grown in Utah and Idaho.

The flour is glycophate and bromate FREE.

Did you know that glycophate is just another word for round up? That’s a weed killer can’t imagine what that does to our bodies.

There have been studies that bromated flours which is a chemical called potassium bromate and it can be harmful, and it is classified as a human carcinogen. Central Millings does not use any of these terrible things.

Sourdough has probiotics and prebiotics that are not found in other foods.

Sourdough is easily digestible, it also has a lower glycemic index compared to other breads. If you are diabetic studies show that you can eat sourdough. Sourdough supports gut health. Sourdough contains lactic acid that helps your body absorb more nutrients. Sourdough also contains prebiotics for microbiome health.

It all started in 2022 and started at the Hurricane farmers market. I joined the Hurricane farmers market in spring and just fell in love with the farmers market atmosphere and getting to meet such wonderful people that it made me want to join more markets. When the downtown farmers market in St George opened up that August I joined . We loved what a difference we could make for people and focused on giving our friends a good quality baked goods , and sharing my passion with others. I was disappointed each time I would go to the local grocery’s stores and see the negative ingredients in some of the products, and so that’s when I really wanted to make a difference . I spent many hours researching different flours, and looked for the best one for my products, I also found out the negative impact that seed oils can have.

In early 2025 we decided to get our cottage license and got certified through the state so we could share with people our products in stores. By October we were in 6 locations and just loving it ! I love how I can make a difference by giving people a cleaner product. My goals are to continue to share my passion with everyone and we will keep striving!
