Riverbottom Butterflies

Live Caterpillars and Butterflies

We provide several different species of caterpillars you can raise at home into butterflies, all native to Utah! The caterpillars are easy to take care of, and come with everything needed to raise them in a kit that includes all their food and a pop-up enclosure.

We also have several different species of live butterflies that can be released as part of your special celebration, like weddings, memorials, and birthday parties. Multi-color mixed releases give you the chance to see dozens of Painted Ladies, Monarchs, Red Admirals, and more, all released into nature!

Locals can also rent their own popup butterfly house! It comes with 50 native butterflies and an easy-up screened-in tent to spend a day surrounded by butterflies. It comes with easy set-up instructions, and details on how to carefully hold the butterflies before releasing them at the end of the party!

“I had a butterfly release at my sister’s memorial service and it was something to remember. All the butterflies were ready to fly when the pretty net enclosure was opened. They were Shipped overnight on ice, I followed the instructions to insure proper care until the next day when they were needed. Parker started raising butterflies in 2017 as a hobby. He slowly grew his operation until, in 2020, a huge spike in demand for his caterpillar kits helped him scale up production, and become better known locally in the Salt Lake area. Shortly afterward, he brought on his brother, Michael, as a business partner. Together, they have nurtured Riverbottom Butterflies into one of the largest butterfly farms in the western US, where they raise many different species of Utah-native butterflies, including Red Admirals, Monarchs, and Painted Ladies, that are available as caterpillars to raise, or butterflies to release into the environment for special events.
