Pamela Gomez
Owner, Baker

My name is Pamela: Owner and operator of Soul Flour Bakes, a cottage bakery located in Tooele, Utah. I didn’t know how to cook or anything until I met my husband 10 years ago. A few years into our marriage I would research and test recipes to perfect my cooking skills. I found I had the passion to make people happy through my food that I would create. It wasn’t until 2023 when my husband and I got into a horrific car accident in which my husband almost died that I found sourdough. I just had our baby and was suffering with severe PTSD from the accident. I had stumbled upon sourdough and started to experiment with it. I made my own starter from scratch and kept practicing and practicing. I fell in love with baking sourdough and it was a nice distraction to keep my mind busy. My husband told me I should start giving to neighbors and try selling it. We started our first farmers market in August of 2024 in St. George, Utah and it took off from there. We were doing 3 markets a week and pre orders. We then relocated up to Tooele, Utah for our forever home and I got licensed as a Cottage Baker in the state of Utah. Here I am now, continuing markets, pre orders, and sharing with my community. I absolutely love and enjoy everything about sourdough and what it has done for my life.
